This page describes the process of updating your devices firmware the default way via the mobile app.
Firmware updates are typically deployed in groups over the course of 7-10 days. Once your device has been marked eligible for a firmware update, you will see an in-app notification indicating so. If you do not yet see a firmware update for your device, you can force your device to be eligible by manually checking for the update.
Executing a Firmware Update
When you see that a firmware update has become available via a notification in the Mobile App, simply press the "Update" button. The modal should then inform you that the firmware update is in progress.
The device should display solid blue, indicating that the firmware update is in progress. The process can take up 10 minutes. If it is taking longer than 10 minutes, please see the "Failed Update" section below.
Update Successful (FLASHES GREEN)
Once the firmware update has completed, the device should FLASH GREEN and the Mobile App should inform you the update was successful.
Update Failed (FLASHED RED)
If the firmware update was unsuccessful (the device flashed red, never displayed solid blue, or was stuck blue for longer than 10 minutes), the update may have failed and you should take the following steps to try again:
Power cycle the device
Completely close out of the Mobile App and reopen it
Press the "Update" button again
Please try a few times before taking additional troubleshooting steps.
Still not working?
If after a few attempts, if you are still not able to get the firmware update through, please see the steps to update via Recovery Mode.
Manually Check For A Firmware Update
You can force your device to be eligible for the firmware update by "Checking For Update" on the Device Settings screen. This will first check that a firmware update actually exists, and if it does, will then display a "Update Now" button.
