# Recovery Mode

This feature is only available on devices with firmware **v1.6.1** and newer. If you believe your firmware version is older than v1.6.1, you will need to update via a [USB Cable](/firmware-updates/usb-cable.md).

Putting your device into Recovery Mode will **DELETE ALL STORAGE**, including WiFi credentials. You will need to go through the [WiFi setup](/setup/wifi-setup.md) process again in order to reconnect your device.

By downloading the firmware onto your phone, you can then connect to a temporary WiFi network from your Fluora or Monos and directly install the firmware. Please follow the steps below.

### Download the Latest Firmware

To download the binaries onto your phone, press the link that matches your model:

Note: You do not need to open the `.bin` file. Just download and save it to your phone for the upcoming upload step.

### Put Your Device Into Recovery Mode

Locate and hold down the **Function Button** until your device <mark style="color:$danger;">**FLASHES RED**</mark> *(about 15 seconds)*&#x20;

It will first flash blue, however, **DO NOT** release the button until it begins flashes red.&#x20;

### Join the “Fluora Recovery Mode” WiFi network on your phone

If you do not see the WiFi network or your device is not actively <mark style="color:$danger;">**PULSING RED**</mark>, it was not successfully put into Recovery Mode and you need to repeat **STEP 2**.

### Locate the Firmware Upload Form

**On iOS**, the form should automatically appear in a captive portal as soon as you've connected to the WiFi network.

**On Android**, you may need to open your Web Browser and navigate to "recovery.local".

### Select the Firmware Bin

Press the "Select Firmware Bin" button select the firmware you just download. The firmware update should begin immediately.&#x20;

#### **SUCCESS** *<mark style="color:$success;">**(FLASHES GREEN)**</mark>*

Once completed, the device will close the temporary WiFi network and your phone should automatically go back to your home WiFi network.

#### **FAILURE&#x20;***<mark style="color:$danger;">**(FLASHES RED)**</mark>*

If the the firmware update fails, you may need to power cycle the device, and start over from **STEP 2**.
